He served in the US Army and played the piano in the Army Band. He continued playing piano for jazz and big band groups around the country. He is survived by his son John Spire, daughter Sharon Sluski, and his grandchildren: Timothy Sluski, Natasha Sluski, Robert Spire, Elizabeth Spire, and Emily Spire. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Nov. 20, 2009 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 2987 West Flagler Street Miami, FL, at 8:45 am, followed by interment at Woodlawn Park North Cemetery.
